The Game Developer's Network and the Video Game Design & Development Department will be hosting the Global Game Jam 2015 here at NE Tech!
Save the dates, January 23-25, 2015 and please register as soon as possible. Please note that you need to register with us and GGJ. Come learn a few things, help build a game, network with people, have fun!

When, Where, How Much?

When: January 23-25, 2015

Where: East Greenwich Campus (1 N.E. Tech Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818)

Starting Time and Location: Starts Fri 1/23/14 at 3PM, MPT (Theater) N106.

Entrance Fee: None.

Jam Site Hours:
Fri 3:00PM till 10:00PM
Sat 8:00AM till 10:00PM
Sun 8:00AM till 3:00PM


Meals: Not provided.

Who Can Participate: Current students & Alumni of NEIT, as well as people outside the school (Ages 18+).
(Space is limited. You must Register.)

Age Restrictions: 18+ years old only.

Security: This site has onsite security.

Game Jam Rules

- This is an NEIT event , so all existing NEIT rules and regulations will apply to the event.
- Appropriate behavior and respect for others is expected.
- No alcohol on campus.
- Come with a team or join a team on site.
- Participants can leave whenever they complete their work. All work must be done on-site.
- We will have access to several rooms, plus the MPT. Students are not to be in non-Game Jam areas of building.
- Don’t come with a pre-conceived game idea… a theme and parameters will be announced at the start: 5:00 PM.
- Team hint: a good team will have programmers and artists and be open to change and suggestions.
- Keep teams small in order to keep the project small and uncomplicated.

Tips for a Fun & Successful Game Jam:

- Bring beverages.
- Bring a blanket to snooze on or wrap-up in while you work.
- Make some new friends, team up with people you don't know.
- Be considerate of others, respect others, be professional.
- Your team's game: Keep it simple, make it work, make it fun!
- Have fun! You're making a game!
- Come learn a few things, play a game or two, network with people, have fun!
